Customer Reviews
Overall rating: 4.7 / 5 from 234 reviews.
I've worn these Joan flats to three outdoor weddings now and they're my go-to. The mesh breathes like nothing else, my feet don't sweat, and the black pair goes with literally everything in my closet.
The strap across the foot keeps them secure without cutting off circulation like my old ballet flats. Size 39 fits true to length, and the mesh upper means I can actually wear them in 80-degree weather without my feet dying.
Bought these thinking they'd be a throwaway summer shoe but they've become my uniform. Slip them on in the morning, forget I'm wearing them, and somehow still look polished by evening.
The mesh construction is genuinely breathable without looking cheap or flimsy. I wore them to a garden party in June and my feet were the only part of me that wasn't overheating.
I've been searching for ballet flats that don't make me feel like I'm wearing my grandmother's slippers. The square toe on these feels current and the mesh adds visual interest that solid leather couldn't achieve.
Wore these on a beach vacation and they handled both casual walks and dressier dinners without complaint. The mesh dries quickly if they get damp, and they pack flat for travel.
Never thought I'd love a mesh shoe this much but here we are. They're lightweight, my toes don't feel boxed in like regular flats, and the breathability is genuinely noticeable.
Grabbed both colors because honestly at $60 each they're affordable enough to commit to. The white pairs with my lighter summer dresses and the black goes with everything from jeans to work pants.
Square toe flats sometimes squash your toes but these actually have room in the toe box. Size 38 fits my narrow foot perfectly without any slipping around in the heel.
The mesh lining is smooth enough that I can wear these without socks and not feel uncomfortable. My feet stay cool and there's zero chafing even after a full day of wear.
Most mesh shoes I've bought look cute for about five minutes then feel like wearing a sieve. These keep my feet covered properly while still letting air flow through, it's the best of both worlds.
I rotate these with two other pairs of flats and after three months they still look unworn. The sole isn't separating, the mesh isn't pilling, and the structure hasn't broken down.
If you want that quiet French girl aesthetic without looking like you're trying too hard, these nail it. The simplicity is sophisticated and the mesh keeps them from feeling stuffy.
The Mary Jane strap makes these way easier to slip on than traditional ballet flats. I can grab them in the morning and be out the door in seconds without fighting with my heels.
My feet feel like they can actually breathe in these which sounds dramatic but it's true. After wearing regular closed flats for years, the mesh is genuinely revolutionary for my comfort.
Our office dress code is business casual and these fit perfectly. Professional enough for client meetings but the mesh shows enough texture that they don't look boring with my work dresses.
Mesh can be annoying to clean but the tight weave on these wipes clean in seconds. I've never felt worried about them getting stained or damaged, they're super low maintenance.
Grabbed the black pair for daytime outings and they're perfect. Light enough that I forget I'm wearing them but substantial enough to feel like real shoes, not slippers.
I have high arches and most flats destroy my feet but these have enough support to be wearable. The insole is actually cushioned which is rare at this price point.
These look like they should be uncomfortable and trendy but they're actually practical and wearable. The square toe is flattering, the mesh looks intentional, and my feet don't hurt.
Loved the black so much I came back and ordered the white. At this price point and quality level I'm comfortable owning both colors and rotating them.
During last week's heat dome these were the only shoes I wanted to wear. The breathability kept my feet from swelling up like I've experienced with leather flats in summer.
The stitching is even, the toe box is shaped nicely, and the heel tab isn't flimsy. You can tell someone actually thought through the design rather than just throwing something together.
Love these shoes but there's a tiny bit of heel slipping when I first put them on, though it stops once I take a few steps. The quality and comfort make up for that small issue and they're still my favorites.
These are wonderful for indoor or casual outdoor wear, but the sole is thinner than I'd want for all-day walking on pavement. That said, they're still incredibly comfortable for their intended purpose.
If you have wider feet these might feel snug around the midfoot area due to the Mary Jane strap design. They work perfectly for me but I wanted to flag that for anyone with broader feet.
Generally these fit true to size and need zero break-in time, but the mesh around the ankle took about two wears before it felt totally soft. Not painful at all, just something I noticed.
Within a month of regular wear, the mesh started pulling in one spot on the left shoe and I'm worried it'll unravel further. Everything else about them is great but durability is a real concern for me now.
The insole padding started compressing faster than I expected after about six weeks of regular wear. They're still wearable but I'm concerned about long-term durability given the price point and how quickly the cushioning broke down.
The mesh upper on these Joan flats is genuinely breathable for summer wear, and the black pair I got fits true to size in a 38. I wore them for six hours straight at an outdoor wedding and my feet stayed cool the entire time.
These feel like something you'd actually see on the streets of Paris. The square-toe silhouette is modern without being trendy, and the Mary Jane strap keeps them secure without pinching.
No break-in period with these, which is shocking for ballet flats. I sized up to a 40 and they're snug without being uncomfortable, even after wearing them through a full workday and evening stroll.
The difference between these and other ballet flats is the mesh. My feet genuinely feel the breeze, and the material doesn't seem flimsy like I was worried it might be for the price.
Wore these on a breezy oceanside afternoon and they held up perfectly to sand, salt spray, and uneven pavement. The white pair shows some dirt but washes clean easily.
I'm usually skeptical about trendy toe shapes, but the square silhouette on these Joans is actually timeless. Combined with the mesh and the strap, they feel like a classic that happens to be current.
The strap keeps my foot anchored without the tightness I get from other Mary Janes. Size 39 fits like they were made for my foot specifically.
These barely feel like you're wearing shoes. The mesh upper and overall construction make them feel like slippers, but they look sophisticated enough for basically anywhere.
